What are your wipes best use?

These are your wipes, don't let anyone tell you what to put in them. Because the wipes come dry, you can add any formula you want depending on your use. Check out our product page for some tips & tricks to build your own wipes.

Why do your wipes come dry?

So, this was where ECO Wipes separated itself from the pack. We invented the system by realising if you put your formula in separately then there is no soft plastic packaging required to keep the wipes moist, no nasty preservatives unless you want them, and no long storage time in our facilities which require more chemicals. We wanted a fully customisable wipe system so you can have multiple dispensers for different uses.

Using them dry is also super versatile for make-up wipes, paper towel replacement, tissue replacement, and the perfect camping companion when you're out in the bush. Compost them or just dig and bury!

Is your toilet paper septic safe?

Yes. Bamboo fibers are natural and biodegradable, meaning they break down more easily in septic systems compared to synthetic materials. This helps prevent clogs and maintains the health of your septic system.

Are the Eco Keeps washable?

Yes, we designed the Eco keeps so they can be washed up to 5 times!

Is raw unbleached bamboo rough to touch?

Our bamboo is mighty soft, and so far to date, has surprised everyone who has asked. We think you'll be surprised too.

Sometimes our dispenser labels lose shape...

We discussed this with our team and community rigorously and vote to keep our labels unbleached and compostable. Due to this decision, if you require a new label, let us know and on your next order we'll chuck it in for free. Compostable labels break down over time and lose shape, we'll stick by our decision and top you up :)

How long does it take for your products to break down in the compost?

The Science

What is so good about unbleached?

Why are Dixons harmful to human health?

Dioxins are harmful to human health because they accumulate in the body. While using one product containing dioxins may not pose an immediate risk, repeated exposure over time can be harmful.

  1. Increase cancer risk Classified as carcinogens.
  2. Disrupt Hormones: Interfere with the endocrine system, which can cause reproductive and developmental issues.
  3. Weaken Immunity: Can damage the immune system, making the body more susceptible to infections.
  4. Affect Development: Can lead to developmental problems in fetuses and children when exposed prenatally.
  5. Accumulate in the Body: Persist in the environment and build up in human tissue, leading to long-term health effects.

Why haven't dioxins been banned by governments?

Governments haven't completely banned dioxins because they are often accidental byproducts of industrial processes, making them hard to eliminate.

Efforts are focused on reducing exposure and managing risks, but a complete ban would be a more effective solution.

Bamboo vs recycled paper?

Both great environmental solutions. We prefer to stay away from white all together to not support the industry. All bamboo is not made equally. Our bamboo is sourced from one of the most sustainable bamboo forests in the world. Check out our "Our bamboo" page on how seriously we take this. We vote for raw unbleached and truly sustainable bamboo.

What's the difference between white and brown bamboo?

Bamboo doesn't come white, it must be bleached. We have removed dioxins and bleaching from the wiping paper process. It's all raw bamboo pulp and adds silica to the soil and protects our waterways.

Why is Bamboo good for the soil and your compost?

Bamboo benefits the soil by contributing silica, a mineral that supports plant health. As bamboo grows, it absorbs silica from the soil and then returns it when its leaves and stalks decompose.

Silica helps strengthen plant cell walls, improves resistance to pests and diseases, and boosts overall plant growth.

So, bamboo not only benefits from silica but also enriches the soil, promoting a healthier ecosystem.
