Sustainable bamboo

We source our bamboo from Sichuan, on the China–Tibet border. A region of stunning mountains, rich bamboo forests, and conservation efforts so successful they’ve even brought pandas back.

We love lazy pandas

Sichuan’s bamboo forests are part of major conservation efforts. Because bamboo only survives around 7 years, it can’t always provide a lasting habitat for pandas. Current projects focus on creating dense forests so pandas who spend over 12 hours a day eating bamboo shoots can forage without traveling far.

Sourced from old world

Sichuan feels like a time machine into ancient China. Where awe-inspiring temples sit gracefully within landscapes that have been carefully conserved for centuries.

Ecological awareness

In Sichuan, bamboo isn’t over-harvested, it’s managed. Strategic sections are cut to make space for new shoots, creating denser forests for pandas to thrive in. The bamboo is harvested at a set height with roots left intact, protecting the soil and sustaining a healthy, resilient ecosystem.
